  Anganwadi workers are key people in society who impart nutritional knowledge in the community to control malnutrition among preschool children. SHG leaders also play a major role in women empowerment. Hence, on the occasion of Poshan Maah, a workshop was conducted for Anganwadi workers and SHG leaders in Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sagroli on 17 September 2020.   The principal aim behind this programme was to spread the nutritional knowledge among these groups and indirectly support to decrease malnutrition among preschool children and anemia from rural women. Hence, in this programme, topics like low-cost high nutritious food, dietary management in malnutrition and anemia, immunity-boosting foods and the importance of nutritional garden development in the backyard of the house were covered.   Krishi Vigyan Kendra implemented NFSM( National Food Security Mission) sponsored Cluster FLD at Shahapur Taluka Deglur on 10 ha area and 25 farmers field in Kharif 2020. The crop is at the maturity stage and performed very well as compared to the Traditional Practice and variety. Field Day celebrated at farmer Shri. Sanjay Aradwad demonstrated plot 32 farmers were present for the program. Farmers expecting 6 to 7 QTL grain yield in the crop.

Every year the  Poshan Maah  is celebrated under POSHAN Abhiyaan (Scheme for Holistic Nourishment), which was launched in 2018 by the Government of India. The objective of the  Poshan Maah  is to encourage programmes addressing malnutrition amongst children, and anemia among women and to ensure health and nutrition for everyone. Poshan Maah (Nutrition month)  was celebrated in Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sagroli in September  2020. Various programmes focused on anemia and malnutrition were conducted in the month which is as follows. Programme was started on 1 st September with a Training programme on “ Dietary management in anemia ” in Sagroli village for 13 farm women.   Lumpy, a skin disease of cattle caused by LSD Virus infection is fast-spreading in Maharashtra State. It has reached to remote areas in Marathwada Region like Sagroli, Hpparga, Adampur, Daulatapur, Nandur, Aloor and Shahapur of Biloli and Degloor Block. Pharmacists can exploit such situations by misguiding the farmers. First case of Lumpy was reported to us on 18 th  August at Daulatapur. Soon our KVK’s team led by Dr . Nihal and Shri Bhaskar Bucchalwar came into action. They arranged three awareness camps at different locations on 21/23/28 August respectively. Dr . Nihal had in detail discussion with farmers about causes, symptoms,  preventive and precautionary measures with live demonstrations. He further guided them about medication and isolating infected cattle to stop the spread of Lumpy Virus. During the interactive sessions he cleared their doubts about effects on human health.
